CLUJ RUNNING FESTIVAL COMPETITION REGULATIONS
GENERAL OVERVIEW
CLUJ RUNNING FESTIVAL (CRF) is an athletics event – a road running competition – organised in the municipality of Cluj-Napoca. This year's edition will take place on 27–28 of June 2026 and is organised by Comparty Sports, Asociația pentru Comunitate, and the tRUNsylvania Sports Association.
Within the framework of CLUJ RUNNING FESTIVAL, the following races are organised:
- 800 m KIDS (6–9 years old on the day of the competition)
- 1,200 m KIDS (10–13 years old on the day of the competition)
- 3,000 m JUNIORS (14–16 years old on the day of the competition)
- 5,000 m (5K) – amateurs and licensed athletes (young athletes who are no older than 19 years of age on the day of the competition)
- 10,000 m (10K) – amateurs
- CLUJ RUNNING FESTIVAL also hosts the Cluj tRUNsylvania 10K Elite Race – 10,000 m (10K)
The 5K and 10K races are intended for amateur runners.
The children's and juniors' races are organised under an OPEN system, meaning that both amateur athletes and licensed athletes may participate.
The Cluj tRUNsylvania 10K race is intended for elite athletes.
CLUJ RUNNING FESTIVAL is open to all persons, regardless of age, social category, sex, nationality, political affiliation, ethnic origin or religion.
The objectives of the CLUJ RUNNING FESTIVAL are:
- To benefit the community and contribute to its development;
- To promote a healthy lifestyle and physical activity;
- To motivate individuals to set personal goals for improving their lifestyle;
- To improve and develop the sport of running;
- To contribute directly to the development of the culture of road running competitions;
- To contribute to improving the organisational standards of athletics competitions;
- To contribute to improving the performance of Romanian athletes;
- To promote the municipality of Cluj-Napoca and its surrounding area as a sports tourism destination and beyond.
INTRODUCTION
The CLUJ RUNNING FESTIVAL, hereinafter referred to as the EVENT, is organised on Saturday, 27th of June, and Sunday, 28th of June 2026, by COMPARTY SRL, in collaboration with Asociația pentru Comunitate and the tRUNsylvania Sports Association.

By completing the registration form made available by the Organiser on the official website clujrun.ro, by participating in the Event and in its associated activities, each participant expressly and unconditionally agrees to comply with the Terms of these Regulations, as well as with any instructions and recommendations issued by the Organiser and the Event officials (Race Director, referees, volunteers, etc.).
The Organiser reserves the right to amend these Regulations, including up to 24 hours prior to the first race start, provided that participants are informed through the official Event website and the official communication channels.
These Regulations shall be supplemented by the applicable legislation in force.
PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS
In order to participate in the races organised as part of the CLUJ RUNNING FESTIVAL, to be officially validated for the competition, and to collect the race kit, each participant must meet the following conditions:
Pay the registration fee.
Present a valid identity document for verification purposes.
Accept full responsibility for any incident (including any accident, injury, loss or damage) suffered during the competition. The Organiser shall not be held liable for any such incidents, in accordance with the provisions of these Competition Regulations.
Declare that they are physically fit and medically cleared to participate in the race for which they have registered. The Organiser accepts no responsibility for any medical condition, injury or health issue arising during or after the Event.
Participation in the CLUJ RUNNING FESTIVAL is strictly personal. The transfer of a registration or participation rights to another person is strictly prohibited, including allowing another individual to compete using the registered participant's race bib.
Any breach of this provision shall result in the disqualification of the participant, and the Organiser reserves the right to exclude the individual from participating in future events organised by the Organiser.
A participant who transfers their race bib or registration to a third party shall bear sole responsibility for any accident or incident caused by or involving that third party during the Event.
The Organiser shall not be held liable for any consequences, actions, damages or losses suffered by the third party.
The specific conditions applicable to each race are detailed in the dedicated race sections available on the official website clujrun.ro and on the official Cluj Running Festival Facebook page.
DATE AND VENUE
- 27–28 June 2026, in the municipality of Cluj-Napoca, Romania;
- On a race course consisting of a 4,645 m loop.
The race course has been officially measured and certified by World Athletics, which is an essential requirement for the validation of race results achieved during the competition.

The participant's age on the date of the competition shall be taken into account.

- 5,000 m (5K) – Open Race (maximum age of 19) – Female & Male
- 10,000 m (10K) – Open Race – Female & Male
- Cluj tRUNsylvania International 10K – Women's Elite Race – 10,000 m (10K)
- Cluj tRUNsylvania International 10K – Men's Elite Race – 10,000 m (10K)
REGISTRATION
Registration Period
Registration is available EXCLUSIVELY ONLINE via the official event website (www.clujrun.ro) under the "Registration" section.

On-site Registration Exceptions
Participants who require assistance with the registration process may receive support at the Info Point located near the Start Area.
On-site registration assistance is available subject to a service fee.
The additional fee for on-site registration is RON 100.
RACE KIT COLLECTION
Race kits may be collected from the designated Race Kit Collection Area located near the Start Area.

Licensed athletes must present the following documents during race kit collection for validation:
- proof of athletic federation registration (athlete licence); and
- a valid semi-annual medical clearance certificate, valid on the date of the competition.
Proof of registration and the medical clearance may be presented in any of the following formats:
- the original athlete licence;
- a photograph of the required documents displayed on a mobile phone; or
- a printed copy containing the required information.
The Kids Race Kit includes:
- Official event T-shirt bearing the competition logo;
- Non-personalised race bib;
- Timing chip;
- Finisher medal;
- Products provided by the Event Partners.
During the validation process, children will receive their Kids Race Kit, including the official event T-shirt. All children are required to wear the official event T-shirt before the start of the race and throughout the entire race in which they are registered.
During the online validation process for children's races, the parent or legal guardian must sign a Declaration of Responsibility, confirming the child's health condition and accepting full responsibility for any risks associated with participation in the sporting event.
Important! Registration fees are non-refundable, including in cases where a registered participant does not attend the Event.
Registration details may be amended upon payment of a RON 50 processing fee per participant, applicable to the following changes:
a. Transfer to another race. If the new race has a higher registration fee, the participant must also pay the difference in the applicable registration fee.
b. Transfer of registration to another participant.
In cases of force majeure, such changes will be processed free of charge, provided that valid supporting documentation is submitted.
Registration changes may be made through the participant's account until 20 June 2026.
If the Event is postponed, cancelled, or interrupted due to circumstances beyond the Organiser's control, including but not limited to force majeure, decisions of public authorities, strikes, states of emergency, or similar circumstances, the Organiser shall not be liable for any losses or damages incurred by participants.
In such cases, participants will be offered complimentary registration for the Organiser's next event, at no additional cost.
If the Event is cancelled due to reasons attributable to the Organiser, and the participant chooses not to transfer their registration to the next edition, they may request a refund of the registration fee. In such circumstances, the Organiser shall refund the registration fee in full.
No additional compensation or reimbursement shall be payable by the Organiser.

Admission is free for spectators to all events throughout both days.
START AND FINISH
Participants must report to the Athletes' Call Area, located in the parking area adjacent to the Finish Line, which serves as the designated area for athlete preparation, warm-up, award ceremonies and the Race Secretariat.
The Athletes' Call will take place 30 minutes prior to the start of each race, in accordance with the schedule set out in these Competition Regulations.
The race courses and start locations will be announced in advance on the official website www.clujrun.ro.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Throughout the duration of the Event, Participants shall conduct themselves in a courteous and respectful manner towards the Organiser, its representatives, and all other Participants, and shall fully comply with these Competition Regulations.
Participants are requested to:
- Not obstruct or impede other participants;
- Avoid running in groups of more than three (3) participants;
- Avoid stopping abruptly and ensure that, when stopping, they do not obstruct or endanger other runners;
- Give way to faster runners approaching from behind when requested to do so;
- Not use headphones or other audio devices during the race.

The Organiser shall award cash prizes to athletes who successfully complete the race and place in the categories listed below during the Cluj Running Festival.

IMPORTANT
- The cash prizes set out in these Competition Regulations represent gross amounts. All applicable taxes and statutory deductions required under Romanian legislation shall be withheld before payment.
- The top three (3) finishers in each category (Women and Men) shall receive medals.
- The top five (5) finishers in each category shall receive diplomas.
AWARD CEREMONY
The Award Ceremony shall take place in accordance with the schedule set out in these Competition Regulations, at a venue to be announced in advance on the official website www.clujrun.ro and through the Event newsletter.
Awards shall be presented in the order of the respective race starts.
The prizes offered by the Organiser will be announced prior to the Event. Before any prize payment is made, all applicable taxes and statutory deductions required under Romanian legislation shall be withheld from the announced cash prizes, and only the remaining net amount shall be paid to the participant.
A Participant shall not be entitled to receive a prize if they have acted or act in breach of these Competition Regulations.
The official validation of the results and the awarding of prizes shall take place within three (3) weeks following the conclusion of the Event, after all appeals have been resolved and any force majeure situations have been addressed.
Cash prizes shall be paid within eight (8) weeks after the completion of the Event, during which period any appeals may be reviewed and resolved.
For elite and licensed athletes, the Organiser reserves the right to postpone the payment of prize money until the final anti-doping test results have been received, where such testing has been carried out.
Athletes who placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the previous edition of the Event are entitled to free registration for the following edition only for the same race and distance in which they achieved their placing.
To benefit from complimentary registration, eligible athletes must submit a request for validation by e-mail to contact@clujrun.ro.
APPEALS
Any appeal regarding the race results or participation in the Event must be submitted in writing at the Information Tent located in the Award Ceremony Area on the day of the competition and prior to the Award Ceremony.
After this deadline, no appeals shall be accepted or considered by the Organiser.
Appeals may only be submitted by participants who have completed the registration process and paid the applicable registration fee.
For minors, an appeal may only be submitted by one of the following:
- a parent;
- a coach;
- a legal guardian; or
- the accompanying teacher.
Each appeal must include:
- the name of the person submitting the appeal;
- their address;
- race bib number;
- e-mail address;
- a brief description of the matter being challenged;
- the reasons supporting the appeal; and
- any evidence relied upon in support of the appeal.
The Organiser's decision shall be final and shall be communicated to the appellant by e-mail within a maximum of two (2) weeks following the Event.
IMAGE RIGHTS
The Event will be recorded for the purposes of public communication and information by any means, including, but not limited to, photographs, video recordings and other audiovisual materials. Such recordings may be reproduced in any existing or future media, for any purpose, including advertising and commercial purposes, both nationally and internationally.
Accordingly, each Participant expressly grants the Organiser, its authorised representatives and beneficiaries (including, but not limited to, commercial partners) the unrestricted right to record, reproduce, publish and use, on any medium and in any format, without any form of remuneration, the Participant's name, voice, image and information relating to their sporting performance during the Event, for a period not exceeding twenty (20) years from the date of the Event.
The Participant expressly authorises the Organiser to grant sublicences to the Event Partners for the commercial and promotional use of the Participant's image.
Each Participant further grants the Organiser, its beneficiaries (including its commercial partners), and its authorised representatives the full and irrevocable right, for the purposes of advertising, promotional and commercial campaigns, to:
- Make any modifications, additions or deletions deemed necessary for the use of the Participant's image, under the conditions set out herein, including combining the Participant's image with signatures, statements, slogans, distinctive signs and visual effects for the purpose of communicating information relating to the Event (including results, Event promotion, promotion of the Event's values, and similar communications).
In the case of minors, this consent shall be given by the parent or legal guardian (including parents, guardians or other legal representatives) completing the registration on the minor's behalf. The Organiser shall ensure that the rights and legitimate interests of minors are protected at all times.
The Participant warrants that the use of their image is not subject to any exclusive agreement.
The Organiser, its beneficiaries and authorised representatives are expressly prohibited from using a Participant's name, voice or image in any manner that may prejudice or infringe the Participant's dignity.
Any photographs, videos or other recordings made by a Participant during the Event may be used exclusively for personal, non-commercial purposes.
Such materials may not be used for commercial promotion, advertising, marketing activities or any purpose unrelated to the Event without the prior written consent of the Organiser.
PERSONAL DATA
Participants benefit from all rights granted under the applicable legislation governing the protection of personal data and the free movement of such data.
Subject to the Participant's consent, the Organisers shall collect and process personal data, including name, surname, e-mail address, telephone number, date of birth and other identification data, within the territory of Romania, either directly or through their authorised representatives and/or contractual partners.
Such personal data shall be processed for the following purposes:
- administering the Participant's registration and participation in the Event;
- participation in promotional and information campaigns organised by the Organisers;
- promoting events organised or co-organised by the Organisers.
Should a Participant no longer consent to the processing or transfer of their personal data under the conditions described above, they may withdraw their consent at any time by submitting a written request to the Organisers.
Such withdrawal shall be free of charge and shall not require any justification.
